I can’t believe they all survived the polar expedition.
The book tells the story of Ernest Shackleton’s 1914-1917 polar expedition. Their ship, Endurance, got stuck in ice and they never reached the Antarctic continent, and the expedition party.
The party has to spent the winter on the ice with their great-for-the-era but from today’s perspective primitive equipment and sail to South Georgia with a lifeboat. They endure hardship after hardship but amazingly everybody survived!
